See the First Photos of Princess Eugenie's Peter Pilotto Wedding Dress

The designer was responsible for the royal bride's traditional-with-a-twist gown.

Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank is officially underway, but before entering the St. George's Chapel to exchange vows, the royal debuted her contemporary-meets-traditional wedding dress. After much speculation, Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter chose Peter Pilotto (who designs with Christopher De Vos) to create her beautiful bridal look, which had a folded collar detail. Before the big day, the only detail Eugenie revealed about her dress was that she'd wear a United Kingdom-based designer, and she was true to her word.

The dress, which featured a subtle off-the-shoulder neckline, extended train, and back ruffle detail, suited the bride's eclectic fashion sense, but there was one very traditional detail to it: sleeves. Just like her cousins-in-law, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, Eugenie's wedding dress has long sleeves, a nod to the formality and importance of the wedding venue.

Unlike her royal relatives, however, she chose not to wear a veil. Her gown also had one other noteworthy detail. It put a hint of her back on display-Eugenie, who suffers from scoliosis and has surgical scars, decided not to hide her marks on the big day. She accessorized her bridal look with a sparkly tiara, borrowed from her grandmother's personal collection, and Charlotte Olympia shoes.

Eugenie, who was heavily involved in planning her wedding, said deciding on her wedding dress was one of the easiest tasks to cross off her pre-nuptial to-do list. "[The dress] is the one thing that I was really decisive about," she told British Vogue earlier this year. "As soon as we announced the wedding, I knew the designer, and the look, straight away. I never thought I'd be the one who knew exactly what I like, but I've been pretty on top of it." That she knew right away is impressive, especially considering she's quite an established fashionista who regularly wears several different designers.
