In 2014, he sent her a friend request on Facebook and, assuming they had actually met, she messaged him. It was only after hours of chatting online that Adrienne realized the truth: "We had never met, but I appreciated his bold move," she explains. In fact, she appreciated it enough to agree to go to dinner with him shortly after. Their relationship would blossom over the next two-and-a-half years, and take them from Miami to New York and Hong Kong, where they live today. But the couple decided to wed in yet another place: Ravello, Italy. It was the venue—Hotel Villa Cimbrone—that sold the couple on the location. "When I saw a photo of the dining [room] in the villa, I just knew that is where I want to get married," Cameron says, and Adrienne agrees. The couple then enlisted event planner Joy Proctor Design to help them create what Adrienne describes as an "intimate, elegant, whimsical, and not-over-the-top" fête for their 70-some guests. The wedding, which was held on July 24, 2018, was only one part of the celebration. Other events—like a welcome dinner, relaxing pool day, and sailing adventure—were held before and after. The wedding's décor was inspired by the "the beauty of the location," Proctor says: "Ornate, yet understated details with a soft color scheme that exudes romance—blending the blues of the ocean with the warm purples and peaches of the garden." But what made the day truly special, Cameron says, was being surrounded by loved ones. "We have never felt so much love in all of our lives," Cameron adds. "Having each other and everyone we love around us was something truly magical." 01 of 21 The Venue Vasia Han Photography It's easy to see why Cameron and Adrienne chose the Hotel Villa Cimbrone for their venue. It boasts stunning views of the sea—plus manicured gardens and lawns. "The venue is so magical and whimsical," Adrienne says of the location. "The moment you arrive onto the grounds, there is this energy that you can't explain." 39 Amazing Destination Wedding Photos 02 of 21 Tea Ceremony Vasia Han Photography Adrienne cites her and Cameron's pre-wedding tea ceremony as one of the most memorable moments of her entire bridal experience. "Traditionally, the tea ceremony is one of the most significant events at a Chinese wedding. It's called jing cha in Chinese, literally meaning 'to respectfully offer tea.' It incorporates a very formal introduction of the bride and groom, and expresses respect to their families," the bride explains. "Showing respect to my parents, my in-laws, and elders by pouring them a cup of tea was what was expected of me, and in return they offer their words of advice on marriage and a red pocket—or hong bao—for good luck." 03 of 21 Tradition Vasia Han Photography "What I didn't anticipate was how I felt during the ceremony," Adrienne continues. "I was overfilled with emotion—not only because of the immense amount of love that was given, but because we realized that we are now considered adults in the Chinese community; we have the complete support of our elders to help and guide us through any obstacles that may come our way. To me, that was something very, very memorable and something I will hold close to my heart." 04 of 21 Wedding Dress Vasia Han Photography Though Adrienne's Marchesa wedding dress was the first one she tried on, she says she tried on "100 more" before returning to the original—a form-fitting, lace-appliqué gown she loved.
