Will these high-profile duos tie the knot?
1 of 11
If we had to define 2018's celebrity wedding scene, we'd use the word "whirlwind." From Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials (which took place just six months after they announced their engagement), to Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's spur-of-the-moment courthouse ceremony, there are plenty of reasons to think that the trend of super-quick walks down the aisle will continue into the new year. After all, there were just as many quick engagements as there were weddings—just take Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, for example. They dated for just two months before their engagement. If these high-profile duos are any indication, fewer and fewer A-listers are waiting to tie pop the question and tie the knot, which means that there are likely quite a few big-name weddings coming up in 2019.
That's why we've rounded up all of our 2019 celebrity wedding predictions in one place. Though several of these couples, like Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, have shorter relationship timelines, we've also included a few couples who have been together for years—and just might make things official in 2019. We're talking about pairings like Alexander Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez (the singer did release a song about an engagement ring earlier in 2018!), who are about as serious as two non-married people can be. Though we'd place our bets on these longstanding duos in particular, we're just as interested in the couples that fly under the radar—the ones that just my bypass the public engagement and go straight to the wedding ceremony (we're looking at you, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom!).

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez
Ever since the singer and former baseball player made their relationship Instagram official in April 2017, the duo has consistently sparked engagement rumors. Though Jennifer Lopez has maintained that she and Alex Rodriguez aren't forcing anything right now, they spent the majority of 2018 focusing on blending their families—a sign that their official union is likely on the horizon.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin
Technically, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are already married, at least by legal standards. But despite their September 2018 courthouse wedding (which came just two months after they announced their engagement in July), both Bieber and Baldwin refuted their newlywed status. The reason? The model told The Cut
that she and the singer are planning a religious ceremony and bigger party in (you guessed it!) 2019, which is when they feel their union will become official.

Joe LoCicero and Gina Rodriguez
If you asked the Jane the Virgin actress, she'd tell you that she can't wait to wed her longtime boyfriend, Joe LoCicero. "I am marrying a feminist. I am marrying a man that is incredible and loving and understanding and kind and patient," she told Us Weekly
after confirming her engagement in August 2018. Based on their relationship timeline, it's likely that the couple will tie the knot in 2019, but it probably won't be a large celebration. Rodriguez told another
source that she has no time to plan a wedding, but that her mother-in-law is more than game to plan a low-key party: "I'm really hoping that my mother-in-law will just do it all and I'll just show up and I'll be like, 'Oh wow, great choices in flowers! Really love this!'"

Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre
Idris Elba met Sabrina Dhowre in 2014, while the actor was filming his movie The Mountain Between Us. Another one of Elba's movies played a role in the couple's engagement, which took place nearly four years later. During a screening of Yardie, the actor got down on one knee in front of a large crowd; many fans documented the moment on social media. Today, their wedding planning is well underway. According to Elba, music will be a mainstay at the reception: "I want about 19 DJs. There have to be, c'mon!"

Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry
The actor and singer's on-and-off again relationship kicked off in January 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party, but truly picked back up in September 2018, when the duo walked their first red carpet as a re-established couple. Ever since, the pairing has consistently sparked engagement rumors—a source told People
in October 2018 that Orlando Bloom is more than ready to "settle down" with his longtime girlfriend. We doubt the duo will follow a formalized timeline, though. Our bet? They'll bypass the engagement phase and only announce their upgraded relationship status after they've tied the knot sometime in the new year.

Christin Carino and Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga and Christian Carino generally fly under the radar, which made the A Star Is Born's public engagement confirmation—she shared the news onstage at Elle's Women In Hollywood Awards—that much more exciting. Gaga referred to Carino as "my fiancé, Christian" while accepting an award. Considering their extremely private history, we have a feeling they'll be another couple to get hitched first, then share the news after the fact.

Karl Glusman and Zoë Kravitz
Considering the fact that Zoë Kravitz and Karl Glusman have been engaged for nearly one year (Glusman proposed in the couple's living room, after his original plan to pop the question in Paris fell through due to schedule conflicts), it's probable that they're planning a 2019 wedding. They'll likely have to work around Kravitz's role in the second season of Big Little Lies, though, which is currently in production. But if the duo's engagement is any indication, these two know how to go with the flow and adjust as needed.

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner
2018 was a huge year for Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner: After months of pregnancy rumors, the makeup mogul and her rapper boyfriend welcomed their first child, Stormi, in February. Since then, the new parents have taken to calling each other married nicknames—Scott frequently refers to Jenner as "wife" on social media, which has caused much speculation about whether or not the couple is already married. The duo has dismantled all of those rumors, but their shared daughter makes it likely that they'll make good on those nicknames next year.

The Weeknd and Bella Hadid
The singer and model aren't technically engaged (yet!), but they seem ready to take their bond to the next level. The couple—who rekindled their relationship in July 2018—moved into a New York City apartment together in late October, reports Us Weekly
. As for why we think they'll tie the knot in 2019? We have a feeling they'll be influenced by good friends Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, who moved into the marriage phase just as quickly.

Lea Michele and Zandy Reich
The Glee alum announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Zandy Reich back in April 2018, when she took to Instagram to show off her massive emerald-cut engagement ring. Since then, the actress has been vocal about wedding planning. She told People
in May that she spends "a little bit of time every day to just chip away at some planning." If she held herself to that method, it's likely that her nuptials will be ready to go sooner rather than later in 2019. Need even more evidence? She's already chosen her wedding dress and had not one, but two engagement parties.
