Julianne Hough's Brother Can't Stop Gushing About Her Perfect Wedding
Like us, he's still not over their wedding photos.
It seems like each and every one of Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich's wedding guests have talked about how incredible the June celebration was, but one person in particular can't stop gushing about its beauty-her brother, Derek Hough! On Saturday, at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles, Derek Hough said that his sister's nuptials were a "Nicholas Sparks movie on steroids" and that it has definitely inspired his own eventual wedding.
"It really was incredible," Hough told People of the lakeside ceremony in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. "I was just looking at wedding photos with her now-husband and me and him were like two ladies looking at these photos, like, 'Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful.'"
We've seen a few of those photos and we entirely agree. Everything, from the burst of confetti as the couple shared their first married kiss to Julianne's two wedding dresses, was absolutely perfect. Oh, and did we mention the nightcap fireworks over the lake? Aside from the minor blip of a broken down party bus, there wasn't a detail out of place at the outdoor ceremony and reception.
Of course, the most important detail about any wedding is the couple and Hough has only glowing things to say about the newest addition to his family. "His dynamic has served our family so well. He's very grounded. He's very salt-of the earth, great guy, so for us its been an amazing addition to our family and an amazing addition to my life, personally," he explained to People. An in-love couple and storybook ceremony makes for a level of wedding perfection that is near impossible to beat, so it's understandable that Derek Hough seems to be experiencing something green-wedding envy. "I'm like, 'Shoot, I'm going to have to elope after this,'" he told People. "There's no competing with this wedding."
