Get the Scoop on Tara Lipinski's and Todd Kapostasy's Joint Bachelor-Bachelorette Getaway
There's no place to party like Cabo.
Tara Lipinski and Todd Kapostasy are living it up before they say "I do" this June. The Olympic gold medalist and the Fox Sports producer are quickly approaching their wedding day, but both the bride and groom are making sure to follow the traditional timeline. Last month, Lipinski had her bridal shower in Los Angeles and it was nothing short of a perfect pastel-themed party put together by her mother. And then, about a week ago, the couple took off with 13 of their closest friends for the ultimate pre-wedding get together.
Their destination of choice? None other than Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where the future Mr. and Mrs. partied with loved ones at a beachfront villa, People reports. The couple and their guests enjoyed a private six-bedroom home overlooking Palmilla Beach. They even had a personal chef who took care of all their food and margarita needs. "It was a wedding pregame!" Lipinski told People about the four-day getaway. "I didn't have the urge to go to Vegas or Miami or do anything crazy like that, I just wanted to be with Todd and all of our friends together."
From the professional figure skater's Instagram posts, you could tell they were having a great time. The mini-vacation looked like it was filled with lots of relaxation by the pool, fun on the beach, and drinks to celebrate. Lipinski's bridal party even had personalized gift bags that came with fun hats and a flower crown, which make perfect giveaways. As for the guys, they spent lots of time on the beach and at the pool, but also watched some basketball. And then when the sun went down, both groups got together to end the night. "We would have these big dinners at night on this little hut on a ledge that had this amazing view of the ocean," said Lipinski. "We'd sit there and eat and talk for hours and play music and stay out until 2 a.m. catching up and laughing and being silly."
While their fun time away has come to an end, it sounds like it couldn't have gone any better. "We're so happy we did a joint party, because a lot of our friends hadn't met before and now we have four days of great memories to talk about at the wedding," said Lipinski. In fact, she even adds that combining the parties to make it one big one was a great plan. "I would totally recommend the joint bachelor-bachelorette party," she said. "For anyone open to it, I would say it's the perfect recipe-you get to be surrounded by your fiancé and your girlfriends!"
