Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Potentially Want One More Child—and That's It
The Duke of Sussex opened up about his and Markle's plans to expand their family in the September issue of British Vogue.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have just welcomed their son, Archie, three months ago, but they're already thinking about the possibility of baby number two. The Duke of Sussex, however, revealed in an interview with Dr. Jane Goodall—published in the upcoming September issue of British Vogue, which Markle guest-edited—that he and his wife won't have a third child, reports Just Jared: Their second baby, if they do decide to have another, will be their last.
The topic of more children arose during his and Goodall's conversation about his love for nature and his efforts to help procure a better world for his kids. "I think, weirdly, because of the people that I've met and the places that I've been fortunate enough to go to, I've always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question," he shared. When he went on to explain that he wanted to "leave something better behind for the next generation" even before having children, Goodall jokingly interrupted, "Not too many!"
Harry's response gave away his and Markle's future family plans: "Two, maximum!" It's possible, however, that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won't try for a second—Harry said maximum, after all!
Ultimately, though, it's fairly likely that the royal duo will give Archie a brother or sister—both Prince Harry and Markle have loved parenting thus far. "It's magic. It's pretty amazing," Markle told reporters after debuting her son to the world. "I have the best two guys in the world, so I'm really happy." Her husband couldn't agree more: Parenting is amazing. It's only been two-and-a-half days, but we're just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy."
