In that time, she has interviewed and worked with hundreds of leading experts to become an authority on all things homekeeping, flower arranging, home design, and wedding planning. Editorial Guidelines Updated on April 18, 2018 Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos Courtesy of Cristina Ottaviano Cristina Ottaviano's passion for design was inspired, in part, by a family legacy. Her grandmother, born in Galicia, Spain, was a master or crochet and hand-beaded lace—something that stuck with the budding designer all throughout her youth. Ottaviano followed that passion into college, studying at New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology, where she apprenticed for Oscar de la Renta and Marc Jacobs. Upon graduation, she landed a dream job at Marchesa. With these incredible brands under her belt, she struck out on her own in 2014, launching a collection of dresses that balanced the traditional with the modern. It's safe to say that the native New Yorker has been quite the hit. She's become the quick favorite of A-list celebrities like Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Gina Rodriguez, Laurie Metcalf, Kristin Chenoweth, and Allison Janney, dressing them all for red carpet events. While all of her fashions, which include evening gowns and ready-to-wear, are impeccable, we're (naturally!) the most intrigued by her range of wedding dresses. The designer's bridal design aesthetic is feminine, romantic, and elegant with a modern vision. Take her newest bridal collection, which debuted at Spring 2019 Bridal Fashion Week, for example. Timeless silhouettes—like A-lines, ball gowns, and trumpets—met contemporary design with fashion-forward details like, floor-length sleeves, asymmetrical necklines, and (sexy!) sheer mesh. Just as trendy? A two-piece ensemble, which took the form of a strapless wedding jumpsuit with a bra-style top, wide-leg pants, and chic suit jacket. Here, you'll find a complete roundup of the designer's newest garments. Whether you're a bride shopping for a pre-nuptial party look (check out the mini dress!) or a classic-meets-contemporary wedding dress, there's something here you're sure to love.
