10 Ways to Decorate a Favor Box
One Box, Ten Ways
We took a simple square and transformed it—via punching, taping, tying, and more—into exponentially awesome parting gifts. To make each favor, we used Bayley's Boxes “Small Tuck Top” box, which comes in more than 40 colors and patterns.
Lettered Favor Box
Send guests off with a note of affection. To add a ribbon pull, cut a slit in the top of the box. Poke a loop of ribbon through it, and tape the ends to the inside of the box top.
Punched Favor Box
Show guests your heart of gold with a punch on each side of the box. Then cut off the top, add some edge with scallop scissors, and line with gold tissue paper.
Taped Favor Box
This packaging job is a total breeze, even for the least crafty types. Simply attach our “Pull Here” tab to a brown box with a strip of copper foil tape.
Photocopied Favor Box
Scan the page that defines “love” in a dictionary. Then, wrap the box as you would a present, tie with twine, and add our phonetic tag.
Glassine Favor Box
Package sweets in a panetteria-style box wrapped in glassine, connecting the top with a glue stick to make a grab handle. Add our custom labels, printed on sticker paper, and finish with baker’s twine.
Sticker Favor Box
Create a trompe l’oeil effect by printing our “gift” graphic on sticker paper and adhering it to the front of the box. Mirror the sticker’s look by tying a thin red ribbon around the box.
Tied Favor Box
For a soft look, cut a seven-inch square of lightweight linen, and set the box in the middle. Affix two opposite fabric corners to the box top using double-sided tape; knot the other two together.
Folded Favor Box
To give your favors an Art Deco look, cut a V shape into the front of the box with scissors, starting at the top front corners. Glue a fan made from a 3-by- 8 1/2-inch paper rectangle into the open space. Line the box with colored tissue paper.
Flowered Favor Box
Poke a millinery flower through the box top and tape the stem to the inside. Edge top and bottom with ribbon, and add a label that shows you’re extra grateful.
Banded Favor Box
Print out our vintage tile-pattern design, then loop it around a matching colored box. Secure with double-sided tape.
