Darcy's Diary: Oscar de la Renta Is Honored with a Commemorative Forever USPS Stamp
It's the perfect adornment for your wedding invite.
It was such an honor to attend the First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony launching the Oscar de la Renta Forever stamp which commemorates, of course, Oscar himself and his house of fashion. The stamps are Forever stamps, naturally since Oscar's style and influence is timeless and will forever be an iconic fixture in fashion.
The USPS is honoring Oscar's life and work with this panel of 11 stamps designed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. One is a black-and-white portrait of Oscar himself and the rest are colored with details from some of his most exquisite gowns.
The fashion icon started designing bridal collections in 2006, and dressed some of the most beautiful celebrity brides including Amal Clooney and Kate Bosworth. Since he passed in 2014, Oscar's legacy still lives on through the stunning bridal gowns that are designed by his namesake company.
For all of you figuring out your wedding invites, these are the perfect postage stamp-they even make great inspiration for the invite itself!
