A Vintage Outdoor Destination Wedding in Bali
Jamie and Wesley
It took a while for the stars to align for Jamie Lo and Wesley Wong, but when they did? It was magic. Having lived in multiple countries, the worldly couple decided to book all 35 rooms at Bali's Amanusa resort for a destination wedding weekend full of regional flair.
Here, Jaime, wearing a Chantilly lace Carolina Herrera gown, posed with Wesley, in N. Hoolywood on the resort grounds.
Letterpressed foldout invites by Quill and Fox depicted traditional Indonesian door panels.
Lotus plants, Balinese symbols of grace, filled two pools at Amanusa. The bride’s advice to other couples thinking about planning a destination wedding? "If you have a destination wedding, embrace the culture," says Jaime. “Treat your guests to a different experience.”
The reception ended with a splash, when guests jumped into the sculpture-flanked swimming pool.
Jaime gave each of her 'maids floral robes embroidered with their names.
Jaime designed each dress to reflect the each gals' style.
Gifts for the Guys
Each of Wesley's four closest friends received flasks engraved with "Flight of the Potato Bug," an inside joke from elementary school.
Wesley and his attendants, in G200 suits, gather at his villa before the ceremony.
Jaime carried blush peonies, fresh herbs, parrot tulips, sweetpeas, and baby bud roses. The bridesmaids’ bundles of coral peonies, sage, and orange and white baby bud roses recalled the colors from the invitation.
Before the ceremony, the couple walked up a tree-shaded path to the resort's hilltop.
Flowers, candles, and fabric strips transformed the spare space.
Jaime and Wes said "I do" in front of a fabric-strip backdrop inspired by an Anthropologie window display.
After saying their vows, the newlyweds posed with the bride's parents (far left and right) and brother (second from left).
The multicourse dinner of soup, pasta, and veal was served poolside under frangipani trees.
The Escort Cards
Guests' names and table numbers were displayed on a bed of fresh herbs and flowers like peonies and asters.
Whimsical menus matched sweet swizzle sticks that featured a cute illustration of their matchmaker.
The Place Settings
White cotton runners and gilded wood plates created a tropical yet elegant look.
Woven beach totes held local bath salts and soaps repackaged to match their motif.
A Glowing Party
Guests dined and danced al fresco under light-strung trees.
The resort's vintage convertible was decorated with fabric ribbons that matched the ceremony's backdrop.
