Milk Bar Owner Christina Tosi's Foodie Wedding Featured a Giant Naked Cake, Because Duh
When the owner and chef behind Momofuku's sister store Milk Bar (and MasterChef judge) marries the restaurateur and co-owner of restaurant group Make It Nice (think Eleven Madison Park, The NoMad, and The NoMad Bar), it's a match made in foodie heaven. And, naturally, that calls for a wedding filled with amazing food.
Christina Tosi and Will Guidara tied the knot Saturday in a rustic, camp-themed wedding at Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, NY-but it wasn't all sunshine and cake balls.
In fact, it wasn't sunny at all: The rain poured as the couple said "I do"-but instead of reverting to a backup rain plan, the laid-back bride and groom threw on ponchos and carried on. Their guests, including Karlie Kloss and Momofuku founder and chef David Chang, did the same, making it a day to remember. The couple posed for a "Just Married" photo after the ceremony, looking drenched but happy.
Leading up to the big day, the guests at "Camp Moose is Loose" enjoyed a garden lunch and participated in relay races, tug of war, cocktails by the pool, and "blobbing," or bouncing off an inflatable air bag into the water.
Even Kloss joined in on the adventurous activities.
But, of course, it was the wedding food that really stood out: The groom's business partner, chef Daniel Humm, seems to have helped with the menu, which included Bo Ssam from Chang's Momofuku, asado barbecue, tomahawk steaks, lobster tails, and whole sides of salmon.
An obvious highlight was the Milk Bar wedding cake: A seven-tiered chocolate chip creation, which was dubbed the bakery's biggest ever.
And at the reception, a cute photo booth backdrop encouraged guests to take on-theme photos.
All in all, the wedding looked like a success-proof that no matter the weather, it's the details and the guests that make for an amazing day.
