Jonah Hill and Adam Levine go way back: "Our dads met in the principal's office in junior high," Hill has said. "We were in carpool, we lived at each other's houses." So when the Maroon 5 frontman married model Behati Prinsloo in Cabo San Lucas in 2014, the funnyman was a obvious choice for officiant.

But it turns out, the Oscar-nominated actor found this role a bit challenging. "I'm writing all these things and I realize I have no jokes in the whole thing because I'm just trying to be thoughtful and respectful and loving to these people who asked me to do this main honor," Hill told Howard Stern during an interview on Sirius XM last week. "And then the f**king sick egomaniac inside of you goes, 'Well I gotta kill a little bit, too,' you know? And then Adam's like, 'Yeah you should be funny, be funny,' you know?"

Oh, the pressure. "The joke I wrote was like, 'Adam and I grew up together. It's so nice to see all the people we grew up skateboarding with-like Gene [Hong], Stevie Nicks, and Robert Downey Jr,'" he said. "I was kind of like giving him shit because he had really famous people at his wedding."

As Hill discovered, balancing the sentimental with the comedic can take a lot out of you. "Afterwards I finished and I was f**king drained," he said. "I left the party after like 30 minutes." We can so relate.

He pulled it off, though! "Jonah was hysterical," a source told E! after the Flora Farms celebration. "He was telling so many jokes, but then in the middle would be so sweet and sincere."

Hill's humorous performance was followed up by a blessing from Prinsloo's dad, a minister, then a duet by Stevie Nicks and the groom himself. And for the couple's walk down the aisle, one of Levine's guitarists played a song. Talk about a star-studded celebration!
