Le Creuset Quietly Dropped Two New Collections Right Under Our Noses

Shop the Japanese-inspired Lotus Collection and a new white and gold color combination.

Unless you frequently check in on the Le Creuset website, you could easily have missed the iconic French cookware brand's latest collection launches. Le Creuset quietly unveiled two striking new lines throughout the summer. It started with the Lotus Collection back in June, followed by a new white and gold color scheme that was revealed on July 1.

Inspired by the Japanese flower of the same name, the Lotus Collection was initially conceptualized in honor of the now-postponed 2020 Olympics, which would have been just about to kick off in Tokyo had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic. The eye-catching cookware boasts a cool blue hue and is decorated with ornate designs featuring lotus flowers and koi fish. The set includes a lidded soup pot, a square dish, a mug, a kettle, and a lidded rectangular dish.

The dishes are made of stoneware material for even heating, along with thermal resistance so you can safely transfer them from the freezer to the oven. They also feature glazed interiors for easy clean up and exterior enamel that's durable enough to last for years. Of course, the entire collection looks just as beautiful on display as it is functional in the kitchen.

Just one month later, Le Creuset graced its dedicated fans with yet another new color scheme—and this time, it was the White with Gold Knob Collection. As the name suggests, the pieces are white with gold accent knobs. They're made of enameled cast iron that doesn't even require seasoning before use. The exterior won't chip or crack, and the interior is resistant to sticking and stains.

The classic color combination is available in the form of a round Dutch oven, a saucepan, and a braiser, all of which come with lids featuring that unmistakable golden knob. A cohesive five-piece set—including a Dutch oven, a saucepan, and a skillet in the white and gold style— has already sold out, but you can still sign up to be notified just as soon as it's available once again.
