10 of the Most Indestructible Dog Beds
Some dogs—especially young puppies—just can't resist the urge to abuse their bedding. Invest in one of these warranty-protected, chew-resistant, durable options that don't forfeit comfort.

Rambunctious dogs and eager puppies alike are powerful chewers, and they can make quick work of destroying their beds. Give them a cushy place to sleep and, in a matter of minutes, it's torn up and destroyed with stuffing strewn across the floor.
Dogs are always going to chew, but you can make sure they gnaw on the right things, says ASPCA animal behaviorist Kristen Collins. If your pet is chewing on his bed, redirect him to a bone or toy, and provide positive reinforcement to help him learn what's permitted and what's off-limits. Offer chew-resistant toys and treats, and rotate them to keep your dog interested. Spray taste deterrents, such as Grannick's Bitter Apple ($5.49, petco.com), on the fabric to teach your pet that its bed isn't to be chewed. Also, make sure your dog is getting enough exercise, which ensures he or she is too tuckered out to chew when it's bedtime.
And as for the bed itself? "When looking for a chew-resistant dog bed, it's important to consider features such as sturdy, ripstop, and water-resistant fabric," explains Jarett Antoque, merchandise manager at Petco. "Strong fabrics will help keep a bed intact even during your pup's rougher or less-than-clean playtime sessions." Some even have antimicrobial properties to cut down on the germs and odor from excessive chewing. Antoque suggests looking for a dog bed that is machine washable, which provides "great options for easy clean-up after accidental spillage, dirt stains, or excessive slobber."
Shop for a bed with high water-resistance, great durability, and one issued with a warranty even if dog does damage. Here, some of the best on the market.
