If you've dreamed of following in the footsteps of Lorelai Gilmore, now's your chance. The current owners of Harbor Watch Inn on Swan's Island, Maine, are running a contest to search for their next innkeepers—and all you have to do is submit an application and write a personal essay, according to House Beautiful.

The application for the "Win Our Inn" contest includes a $99 submission fee, a few brief questions about your relevant experience, and a 350-word essay with the following prompt: "Tell us why owning a small island inn would fulfill your dreams. Why do you believe you will succeed? What, if anything would you change about the inn?" If you're truly passionate about the opportunity to own Harbor Watch Inn, feel free to enter multiple times—there's no limit on entries, as long as you submit a unique essay each time and pay the submission fee.

Harbor Watch Inn itself is small, which makes it manageable for a potential first-time innkeeper. There are four units on site, which can comfortably accommodate four people each; two of the units include full kitchens and balconies, which overlook the harbor. The inn also features solar panels and an on-site charging station for electric cars.

Swan's Island, Maine, is a small community off the coast of Mount Desert Island; in the most recent census survey, the year-round population is approximately 350 people. While the community may be small, it's a popular destination for active vacation-goers. Swan's Island is located approximately 15 miles south of Acadia National Park, which is known for its hiking, wildlife, and stunning sunrises. Other attractions on the island include the Burnt Coat Harbor Lighthouse, the Lobster and Marine Museum, and plenty of beaches. Enter the "Win Our Inn" contest here!
