Sand Dollar Mirror How-To

A basic ready-made frameless mirror is inexpensive and ready for artistic embellishment.

  • Frameless mirror

  • Assorted sand dollars of varying types and sizes (we used 2 large, 14 medium, and 41 small sand dollars)

  • Hot-glue gun


  1. Lay mirror on a flat surface.

  2. Starting with the larger sizes, position sand dollars on mirror. Layer on medium-size ones; then add accents and fill in holes with the smallest ones.

  3. Carefully lift the base sand dollars slightly, and apply glue underneath to adhere them to mirror; continue adhering rest of sand dollars. (If you make a mistake in positioning, you can pry off the sand dollars and start again.) Let dry.
