    Lighten up diefenbaker. Sewingcats4 and pattiet were in no way critical, and your remark about a lack of imagination was mean spirited and uncalled for. They both just pretty much stated the obvious, namely, that while this spring cookie is very cute, it is inappropriate for fall. I think most people want to make seasonally appropriate crafts and foods, and are looking for a little bit more of a challenge that cereal and marshmallows. I do plan to make these come spring, and hope mine look half as good as Martha's, but at this time of the year want something in a more autumnal theme.

    Pity that Sewingcats4 and pattiet have zero imagination. Its great when creativity is being displayed, even if it isn't in the shape of a cookie. What shape is a cookie supposed to be? Maybe by the time that you have made all of the other 364 "Cookies of the Day" you will realize that imagination and creativity are a gift-even though they don't it in the perimeters of a "Cookie". These look like so much fun, I can't wait to make them, so step outside the "circle" and enjoy!

    Sewingcats4: I was thinking the same, but I'm sure it's just because of kids going back to school recently, and these are all kid-friendly type of recipes. I expect more traditional kinds of cookies again pretty soon.

    P.S. This is a great one for girl scouts. You can make leaves instead of nests and put various insects on the leaves. It would be appropriate any time of year. I think the girls could really get into that.

    I think these are delightfull and I am glad that you are publishing recipes that use cereal as well as art form. My grandkids love making anything with cereal. I personally am glad that you include a diversity of recipes in your collection-it is a lot less boring this way. Thanks
