Recipe photo courtesy of Ellie Miller

Reinvent a traditional nicoise salad by tucking it into a sandwich. Here, we've piled tuna, eggs, olives, and onions between slices of crusty ciabatta.

Cook's Notes

Because tuna is the star ingredient in this sandwich, it's worth buying oil-packed tuna in a jar, which has a higher quality and finer flavor than the canned variety.

Made it as is with all of the olive oil, eggs, homemade bread, and olives. I thought it would bee too plain, but it was great!

Did you know tuna is about to become an endangered species? Would you enjoy a panda bear sandwich? https://allesineenvrouw.wordpress.com/2012/07/24/no-more-tuna/

Hi francine d; you are right--too much olive oil for me. but then all we have to do is cut back on it. Plus I always drain my tuna and toss the oil. I never drizzle olive oil on top of rolls unless I'm going to heat them. Let's give them a try though!

There is too much olive oil in the tuna preparation and then adding more in the third step to me is just too too much
