These are a perennial favorite at Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa, a specialty-food market on Long Island, New York. The scones can be cut out ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator, wrapped in plastic, for up to two days; bake just before serving.

This recipe was really fantastic! I was a little skeptical that it would taste too healthy with the wheat flour and the oats, but it was still sweet, which is what I like about scones. The scones have a great flavor and smell. I loved the maple glaze on top. They definitely exceeded my expectations. All the scone recipes I've tried from this site have been very good, but these could be my favorite. Please give them a try.
