    This was great! Making the garlic paste was bit difficult though.

      I would use a mortar and pestle. Results are so much more precise this was and you can manage it the way you like. I use a Chinese Brass set that can be found online or in the Chinese community where you live if there is one. On the pestle, the brass end may not fit precisely. In that case, I use paper towels when fitting the brass end to the wooden handle to ensure a tight fit.
