  • With a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife, remove four 3-inch-long strips of peel from orange; set aside. Juice orange, and strain out pulp. In a medium stockpot, combine orange juice, reserved orange peel, cranberry juice, cinnamon sticks, and ginger. Taste, and add sugar if desired. Heat over medium-high heat until simmering. Reduce heat to low; simmer 20 minutes. Strain, and discard solids. Serve hot.

I made this for our annual Christmas party and it was an overwhelming winner. People even took the cider home with them in coffee cups. This is the easiest and best tasting cider I've had. I didn't even need to add any additional sugar. This will be a family recipe handed down through the years.

I made this cider for a Victorian Tea I hosted this week to give guests an alternative to tea. They ALL had tea AND this cider and loved the cider! The combination of these flavors are wonderful. But what I like best is, you can drink this cider cold or hot, and it's HEALTHY and all natural, so you don't have to feel guilty after drinking it. This is great for the holidays since so many other beverages are so fattening! And NO, I didn't add sugar.
