  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees, with rack in center. In a large bowl, pour milk over bread; let soak, about 30 seconds. Add sirloin, pork, onion, garlic, 1/2 cup chili sauce, parsley, Parmesan, eggs, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Using your hands, mix until combined; do not overmix or meatloaf will be dense.

  • Divide mixture in half. Gently pat each half into a log, and place each log in an 8 1/2-by-4 1/2-inch loaf pan. Do not press down or into corners.

  • Bake 50 minutes. Brush tops of loaves with remaining 1/4 cup chili sauce; continue cooking until juices run clear and an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part registers 160 degrees, about 10 minutes.

  • Remove from oven; let rest 5 minutes. Turn loaves out of pans; slice each into eight 3/4-inch-thick slices.

Cook's Notes

For a loaf with crisp edges, shape themeat mixture with your hands into alog slightly smaller than the pan. Andfor a light texture, don’t press the loginto the pan; just drop it in.

This recipe makes two loaves. Freeze one for later in the pan, covered with foil; defrost completely in refrigerator, and reheat at 300 degrees, for about 10 minutes.

This is really good and you can use bread crumbs instead. I love the chili sauce-you could do half ketchup & half chili sauce (or your own fav sauce) instead.

I made this recipe before but added just a little bit of diced carrots & diced celery and for the chili sauce I used 1 part sriracha to 2 parts of Lucille's spicy BBQ sauce. OMG! It was delicious!

I found this recipe in 2007. I have tried others since then but always go back to this one. I make a glaze using 1/2 c ketchup, 4 T. brown sugar & 4 tsps. apple cider vinegar. I put 2 slices of bacon across the top of the meatloaf then a couple T. of the glaze, then bake per the recipe. I also saute my onions and garlic in a little olive oil for 4-5 mins. before putting into the meatloaf.

I made this recipe sans the chili sauce, I didn't have any on hand. So i substituted ketchup and barbecue sauce. I also added a shredded carrot and 1 finely chopped rib of celery. It is really easy and very moist. I also used wheat bread instead of white. Also, used evaporated milk instead of plain. thanks!

This recipe is awesome! I don't like meatloaf normally but when I saw this on TV, it looked pretty good. It bakes up easily and stays moist. It has really nice flavor and was a hit with my family, even my 10 year old! The best part is that it makes 2, so you can freeze one and have a ready made main dish for later.

Oh my gosh! This was an excellent meatloaf!! I didn't change a thing, I followed the exact recipe. My son is not big on meatloafs but said that this one was really good. This one is a keeper for me! Moist and full of flavor!

The ingredients sound good - good flavor - will try it tonight. I'd like to make a general suggestion though - it would really be helpful to add all the nutritional information at the end of your recipes, especially for those people on special diets. I would think Martha would be in line with this since she is so health conscious herself. Thanks.

I buy chili sauce in regular grocery stores. It is in the condiment section, near the ketchup here in FL. I find it is usually on the top shelves. I really like it

Chili sauce is sold in a bottle near the catsup. The size of the bottle is usually like the size of cocktail sauce for seafood. It is not hot. This receipe does sound really good!

Hi catbru8 The chili sauce I immediately thought of and have used in other recipes is by Heinz. It is located in the same area in the stores as ketchup and BBQ sauces. It is a fairly small around jar; I can't remember ounces, but it's around 8 or 12. Happy cooking!

@catbru8: In our local grocery stores here on the West coast, I've found chili sauce in the ketchup section, and yes, sometimes it's not always available. Heinz makes it and it's usually in a smaller, chubbier-shaped bottle. I'm sure there are other brands also, but that seems to be the brand I always end up getting just because it's there. Check the ingredients on the bottle - assuming you can find it - and then just make your own from ketchup.

This sounds so yummy... and just in time for Fall!!! Although I'm not sure if the "chili sauce" mentioned in the recipe is a store bought item, or another recipe in itself. I didn't have any luck searching for it separately on Martha's website. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Happy Cooking!!
