Dusting the pan with cocoa powder (rather than flour) keeps the cake dark on the outside. To make chocolate shavings, scrape along the edge of a bar of chocolate with a vegetable peeler.

    The cake tastes very good but if youre ingredients are good then your cake will taste good too. I prefer lighter cakes and this one was too dense to satisfy me. This will not be my "go to" recipe for chocolate cake. Any recommendations for a good chocolate cake recipe from this website itself?

    I made this cake over the weekend and it was so good that I didn't need to make the ganache. I did make some whipped cream to go with it but the cake really stands on its own. This will definitely be my go to recipe for chocolate cake from now on.

    One word. FANTASTIC! This is the best cake I've ever tasted. It's a slice of heaven. Watching the video made this much easier. Martha, add more video's. Will be making this cake only on special occasions, It's that special.
