Cook's Notes

The easiest way to cut the baked star ring in half is to place it on a turntable and rotate to achieve an even thickness. If you want to serve a plated version, bake the stars individually.

Check the amount of butter, 12 teaspoons (1 1/2 sticks) cold butter. I think they mean 12 tablespoons, but then I worry what other mistakes are not as obvious and easy to correct before wasting expensive ingredients and my time. I think Martha can afford to pay a proofreader.
