Perhaps I added a little too much water, but my glaze didn't end up as thick and opaque as it did in the picture. Instead, I drizzled it over the carrot cake and it simply got absorbed into the cake itself. It added a nice bit of sweetness on the top, but visually, it was sort of dull. Were I to make the cake again, I'd probably just go for a dusting of powdered sugar -- no concern about it coming together or hardening.
