Directions

Instructions Checklist
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two 10-by-15-inch rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper; place a wire rack on top of each sheet. Arrange bacon in a single layer on the 2 racks. Evenly sprinkle with pepper and sugar.

  • Bake until bacon is crisp and browned, rotating sheets halfway through, 30 to 35 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.

Cook's Notes

Cooking bacon on racks set over baking sheets promotes even cooking and allows the fat to drain off as it renders. Line the sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

I make this every year for a New Year’s brunch. If I didn’t make it, I am pretty sure people would stop coming. They talk about it all year. There are raves every time I serve it. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Couldn't be a simpler recipe, and really takes bacon up a notch! This has become a weekend staple for us.

Newbieduhhuh, try doing A search for a Tomato Quiche or a Tomato Pie? I think those are drop biscuits. I should have done, but need to get off this puter.

This bacon is freaking awesome. I made it with a big Sunday breakfast for my husband and myself, and we loved it. I also saw that Lucinda puts it in a frisee salad - although I can't now find the recipe. I'm thinking you could use it in different salads, so long as the other ingredients weren't too sweet or salty - the bacon needs to stand out, as it's clearly the star.

I made this recently for a New Member Social I hosted for the chapter of MOMS Club that I belong to, and it was a huge hit. Next time, I will need to make twice the amount. Everyone was sniffing around for more and there wasn't a bit left to be found.

I made this recipe for my family over the holidays and I think we could have gone through multiple pounds of bacon
