Perfect Nut Crust

This recipe makes a great base for Martha's Buttermilk-Blueberry Tart with Walnut Crust or Nut-Crusted Cranberry Tart.

The first complaint about the errors in the recipe on this page were written 10 years ago or something. Martha must have had the time to correct those errors. Is this why some many of her recipes receive lower ratings than one might otherwise suspect? It'a all in the details, Martha!

Read the "ingredients" list & then read the instructions...WHERE IS THE FLOUR (listed in instructions, but not in ingredients) Please fix this. (And, if you need a GOOD proofreader, send me an emal! ;-)

On a Martha Bakes episode, she adds 1 cup of flour along with the sugar after the chopped walnuts, butter, egg yolk and vanilla have been initially mixed. This works.

Just made this without reading the comments and didn't include ANY flour because it wasn't in the ingredients list. It burned and made a mess in the oven! Also, it tells you to preheat the oven and THEN says to freeze the crust for 30 minutes. Please proofread!

There is no question that the current recipe for "perfect nut crust" is incorrect. The proportions given would work for a 8 inch tart shell pan, but certainly not for a 10 inch pan. I increased the ingredients by 25%: 1 1/4 cups flour, 8 tbs butter, 4 3/8 ounces chopped walnuts, 1 extra large egg yolk, 1 1/4 tsp salt, 1 1/4 tsp vanilla, and 2 1/2 tbs sugar. Holsen forgot to mention how much walnuts to use in the "Entertaining" recipe, not seen on this site.

RE: Perfect Nut Crust There is a mistake in the list of ingredients. The amount of flour is not listed. I want to make this crust, so please tell me the amount of flour.

I just watched this recipe done by Martha on TV. It is 1 cup flour. Also, she makes it clear that the nuts should be finely chopped but not ground or paste like. I'm disappointed that Martha neither proofed this recipe nor read the comments so she could correct it.

Based on the amount of butter (6 T), this recipe should use 1 cup of flour.
