this is my input, I usually love to sink right into a recipe, but I think that the cookie recipe is incomplete, and I wish the picture was closer, I am really not sure what dividing into four batches and why, what colors? curl how and which way and how should they look after, not hung on a tree. Just my opinion from a long time baker.

I think this site is wonderful! I look forward to my emails every day, whether I use an idea or not. There is something for everyone-use what you like, and ignore the rest. Simplify if you want to. But lets not get negative about something that is supposed to be fun-and lets face it, Halloween is a holiday that is meant to be weird and wild!

I found a ghost and bat stencil by looking up a Martha project from October 2007 called the Trick-or-Treat Bags. It also has a couple other Halloween stencils as well. By reducing the size at the top of the page it is ideal for making the stencil for these cookies. Thanks for the plastic lid idea. We have lost thousands from our retirement these past few months. Lets all make cookies LOL!!!!

Too much Halloween? Not possible! The economy is scary, not Halloween! How 'bout we just look at it as an opportunity to be childlike and to have fun-not always easy to do in these uncertain times. Go Martha! I think you like Halloween as much as I do.

I agree with 123marlena, keep your derogatory comments to yourself if you don't like Halloween. No one is making you view the ideas/recipes...

Dear cynsteinberg,I don't know how you could possibly have gone through Martha's extensive recipe collection ,or have not been able to find another use for this recipe that you like.Try using the varied sizes of cardstock alphabets and making birthday or baby shower trees in other colors. They don't have to be black or orange.Have fun.involve children for ideas.there is always a party waiting for a fresh idea.
