  • Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add apples and 1 teaspoon each fresh thyme leaves and grated lemon zest; season with coarse salt and ground pepper. Cook, tossing occasionally, until apples are just tender when pierced with the tip of a paring knife, 3 to 5 minutes.

I used mushroom powder instead of salt. I also used lemon juice instead of lemon zest.

This is absolutely scrumptious! I have no idea how Martha (or her team!) come up with such recipes - I'm a novice cook :). Easy to make and even easier when you have an apple corer. I'm making this for Thanksgiving this year!
