Orange Spiced Syrup

Make about 1 1/2 cups

This syrup infuses our Orange Waffles.


  • ¼ cup packed light-brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

  • 1 pinch salt

  • ¼ cup light corn syrup

  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed orange juice

  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract


  1. In a small saucepan, mix brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in corn syrup and orange juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally; cool until slightly thickened, 1 to 2 minutes. Let cool; stir in vanilla.

Cook's Notes

Syrup can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.
