Parmesan seems to make everything taste better. For the best flavor, buy a chunk of the good stuff and grate it yourself just before using.

  • Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add green beans, and cook until tender, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain and return to pot.

  • Add butter, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper, and toss to combine. Serve sprinkled with remaining Parmesan.

This is a wonderful recipe and is applicable to asparagus and broccoli as well as green beans. I don't believe it's fair of the person who downgraded it because they dislike the cooking method (boiling). If you don't like boiled you're free to cook with your preferred method and proceed from there as directed in the recipe. Then rate the recipe on it's merits not an arbitrary cooking preference.

You lose many vitamins by putting beans in boiling water. Better to steam them or microwave them. Save those vitamins whenever can!! Recipe sounds yummy.

Very fast and easy dish. Tastes delicious. I cut the recipe in half.
