Parmesan Green Beans

Parmesan seems to make everything taste better. For the best flavor, buy a chunk of the good stuff and grate it yourself just before using.


  • Coarse salt and ground pepper

  • 2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen French-cut green beans

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese


  1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add green beans, and cook until tender, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain and return to pot.

  2. Add butter, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper, and toss to combine. Serve sprinkled with remaining Parmesan.
