Classic Cocktail Sauce

1 cup

Serve this classic cocktail sauce alongside our Fruits de Mer Platter.


  • 2 tablespoons grated and peeled fresh horseradish, (or prepared horseradish)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • ¼ teaspoon coarse salt

  • ¾ cup ketchup

  • ¼ teaspoon hot sauce, (optional)


  1. Stir together horseradish, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl. Stir in ketchup, and hot sauce if desired. Cover; refrigerate until ready to serve, or overnight.

Cook's Notes

If using prepared horseradish, reduce the amount of lemon juice to one tablespoon.
