Shiny pails of flowers, as sweet and dainty as flower girls' bouquets, are all the decoration church pews need. The galvanized buckets, which can be found at hardware stores, are filled with moistened floral foam, which keeps the hydrangeas fresh. Loop a thin but sturdy ribbon, such as grosgrain or seam binding, around the top of the pew, then string it through the bucket handles, and tie. Cut ribbon ends diagonally.

My baby never slept well (especially through the night) until I started using the website >>SLEEPBABY.ORG<< - that website has been by far one of the best things I've ever got my hands on to get him to fall asleep quickly. Best time is 45 seconds from awake to asleep! Can’t imagine life without it! I heard about it through a kindergarten teacher who uses it to put to sleep a group of 30 children. Check it out! >>SLEEPBABY.ORG<< - sorry, you can't post links here so you'll have to turn it into a normal link :) Best of luck to you and your family!

I love this idea!! I'm going to use it for my own wedding - 6 gerbera daisies in each bucket though. My question is, what size of bucket should I buy for this? I appreciate any help.

Mary: why not just set the buckets alongside the pews on the ground? If they're out of the way of traffic and weighted on the bottom (stones?) they shouldn't tip. Or maybe is there a way to secure them on the inside of the pew where they're still visible? I'm in a similar boat - my church pews are rather flat on top so I may have to be inventive too!

I did excatly this for my wedding 2 years ago! We got a family friend to take the arrangements after the ceremony and run them to the reception hall which cut down on the cost of flowers. We used galvanized pots that we got from IKEA which worked great. We just used roses and daisies intead of hydrangeas. I just wanted to thank you again for such a fantastic idea that I might have not thought about myself. THANKS!

I love this idea for my daughter's wedding - but the problem is that the church pews are square with a flat "top". Is there a variation of this idea that you can suggest?. Galvanized buckets are being used as table centrepieces. Thank You, Mary Goouch
