These candles light up the room even without a flame, thanks to a dusting of superfine metallic glitter. To make: Place a few in a large box and coat with spray adhesive (sold at crafts stores). Spoon glitter over the candles to coat; let dry overnight.

Top a humble favor box with a coat of glitter for a dramatic presentation: Apply glue from a glue stick to the box lid, pour silver glitter over, shake off excess, and let dry. Make inverted box pleat in center of a 9-by-2-inch strip of silver paper; fold paper around box, and glue-stick edges where they meet in back. Tie on a 12-inch silver cord to finish.
