Kevin's friends and coworkers at Martha Stewart Living pick the pieces and details they love most in his transformed space. Read on to see a few of their favorite things.
"My favorite thing about Kevin's apartment is the Hudson River view. It is expansive and endlessly fascinating. You feel like you are a free bird in the air, looking out and down on New York and the sailboats and tour boats passing by. The sense of light in the apartment is always with you -- especially the sunset as it casts a pink glow. You don't even need furniture or art when your view is so much a part of the apartment. It's no wonder Kevin chose a modern, simple decorating style -- it lives comfortably with the extraordinary view."

"I truly love the library. It feels the most intimate and 'Kevin' to me. I especially love his use of high-gloss paint in contrast to the matte color on the walls. The shelves and door in the media room are 'delicious' looking. Their luster reminds me of mocha buttercream."

"My favorite thing is the set of black string chairs in the living room. They are unexpected for Kevin but create a great part of the mix in the space. And I love the story about Kevin finding them and then Alexis (Stewart) finding them in a catalog for a fourth of the price."

"As an apartment dweller with limited space, I love the way Kevin has organized his kitchen. I especially love the use of risers in the cabinets to add more space. Now, if only he'd invite me over to cook for him, I could truly test-drive how much food I could crank out of that small but major-league efficient kitchen."

"My favorite spot in Kevin's apartment? Easy: The closet. It's a glorious space, specifically designed to meet Kevin's needs with clever storage ideas. He keeps it uber-organized (I've seen it when there's not a photo shoot, and it is meticulous). Plus, it's bigger than my first NYC apartment."

"Though the apartment is sophisticated and jaw-droppingly beautiful, it's the playful touches and sense of humor that surprise you. Case in point: Kevin's monogrammed table-tennis paddles. They are my favorite whimsical touch."

"I really like the way that Kevin incorporated plants into his environment, from the large Swiss cheese plant (Monstera deliciosa) in the living room to small succulents and begonias around the space. They have both a natural and sculptural quality that really enhance his aesthetic."

"I really like the subtle reflective quality of the materials -- the shimmering chandelier, the gloss of the table, the sheen on the velvet chairs, the cluster of silver vessels. Its a great way to capitalize on all the light."
