There's an easy way to repair the broken handle of a pitcher or cup. Fill a large container, such as a plastic storage bin, halfway with sand; push the damaged vessel far enough into the sand so it won't wobble. Glue the handle in place. Leave in the sand to dry completely (overnight, if possible) before moving. Keep the bin filled with sand in the garage for this purpose.
