Abstract Rose-Print Valentine's Day Cards and Gift Wrap

Stamping tools constructed from corrugated cardboard and a wine cork make beautiful flower motifs. If decorating wrapping paper, stamp a full sheet. To make the cards below, round the edges of colored paper with scissors or a corner punch, apply the markings, and attach to card stock with spray adhesive.

  • Craft knifeĀ

  • Corrugated cardboard

  • Waxed twine

  • Wine cork

  • Ink pads

  • Paper for gift wrap or cards

  1. Cut cardboard to 4 by 4 inches (for small roses) and 4 by 12 inches (for large ones). Roll up each cardboard piece, and secure using twine.

  2. Slice off 1/4 inch from half of 1 flat end of cork, creating a raised semicircle (for leaves).

  3. Press end of rose stamps onto ink pad, and apply to paper. (Your first rose may be light; pressing several times onto pad will yield bolder roses as the cardboard absorbs ink.) Complete composition using leaf stamp.
