Garden Gloves

Martha Stewart Living, March 2000

Wearing the right pair of gardening gloves is as important as using the right tool for a project. A pair of light cotton gloves is fine for simple jobs such as potting, but a leather pair will keep your hands warm in cold weather and provide better protection. For more heavy-duty chores, such as handling thorny plants or using sharp tools, gloves with a protective lining are in order. Choose your gloves based on the job at hand, and be sure they are comfortable and well fitting enough for you to work freely.
