Fringed Tweed Table Runner

  • Measuring tape

  • Fabric shears

  • Wool tweed


  1. When the air turns chilly, reach for something warm and soft -- for your dinner table. A fringed tweed runner instantly adds an inviting air to any table and is a cinch to make. Measure the dimensions of your tabletop.

  2. Using fabric shears, cut a piece of wool tweed to the desired width and long enough to allow a 1-foot overhang at each end of the table.

  3. To create the fringed border, gently pull individual threads from the edges until you have a 1/2-inch border along each long side and a 3-inch border on the short sides
