Autumnal Luminaries

Source: Martha Stewart Living, November 2006
Introduction
With the big holiday behind them, pumpkins are free to be themselves again. In their dressed-down forms, they make lovely lighted centerpieces.

steps

Simply cut tops from pumpkins with a miniature saw (Japanese detail trim saw #49I09.01, $18.95, from Garrett Wade, www.garrettwade.com.), and scoop out their flesh.

We used 'Long Island Cheese,' 'Festival,' and 'Lumina' (plus two small 'White Ball' gourds for decoration). Set one candle in a glass holder inside each. Keep an eye on lighted candles, and be sure to blow them out at evening's end.
