Rope Saver

Source: Martha Stewart Living, April 2002

Banish frayed ends on a piece of rope: Lay a piece of waxed twine against rope, in same direction as the unraveled strands. Secure twine by winding more twine around rope, until at least 1/2 inch of fraying portion is covered. Knot and cut twine.
