Whipping up vinaigrette can make you wish you had three hands -- one to whisk, one to pour the oil, and one to hold the bowl steady. A damp kitchen towel can do the trick. Just twist the towel securely around the base of the bowl to keep it in place.

Easy, please remember 457ccoleman, if you haven't got something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Besides plenty of people found this tip helpful and that's the point of tips to begin with. craftycurious

I agree, cleanergirl, this is an EXCELLENT tip and one I had never thought of either. As an over 50 homemaker who loves to cook, I never cease to learn from Martha. As for those who would criticize this tip, clearly you have never tried to whisk egg whites for pavlova in a chilled metal bowl on a tile counter.

Sometimes the simplest things can make a huge difference. Tips don't have to be earth shattering to be tips. Keep up the good work. I amazed at some of the things you all come up with that I have never thought of before.

I'm past 50 and I never thought of this tip. Good one. I do use those nonskid rubber thingies under bowls, the electric juicer, place-mats. They come in rolls, so I cut the size appropriate to the task. One less stress in the day.

This is not an Organizing tip. This is barely a tip at all. Shame on you Martha. At least try to make your tips, well, tips. Relate to their category, and practical. This is pointless.
