Beeswax-wrapped fixtures provide the welcoming look of pillar candles without the attendant fire hazard.

  • Plug-in or battery-powered candle

  • Measuring tape

  • Utility knife

  • Sheets of beeswax

  1. Measure the height of a plug-in or battery-powered candle, excluding base and the top inch of taper. Using a utility knife, trim a standard (8-by-16-inch) sheet of beeswax to this width. Roll entire length of sheet around candle.

  2. Measure and trim a second sheet, 2 inches wider than the first or wide enough to hide the whole candle and base. Wrap entire sheet around candle, flush with its base and the base of the flame. Repeat with a third sheet.
