Garden plants-including these 'Blue Mammoth' (left) and 'Silver Lode' hostas (below)-revive themselves overnight. Your arrangements will look fresher and last longer if you snip the leaves and flowers at the start of the day, when temperatures are coolest. Cut greenery close to the ground to ensure long stems for arranging; you can trim those that will end up in smaller vases later on.
