Hostas: Focus on Foliage

Martha Stewart Living, June 2006
Even with their bold leaves, hostas don't always jump out from their shady beds. But bring them inside and their lush look will brighten any space. Tuck cuttings into different-sized vessels with proper blooms such as astilbe and lady's mantle. (Tapered containers will help the stems stand nicely.) Set arrangements in a cool spot away from direct sun; they'll last a week.
