Glamour Girls Costumes

These fake-fur wraps, pinned together with flea-market brooches, were made using the same pattern as every other mantle. The girls, in grown-up skirts, blouses, handbags, and clip-on earrings, feel especially elegant thanks to their hairdos -- two ponytails, one high and one low, twisted and pinned together to resemble salon coiffures.

Cape How-To
This stole is simply a cape with a wider neck opening (mark it at 10 inches down). Make the cape following the basic directions; you will need to cut the fake fur separately.

  • Fake fur

  • Satin fabric for lining

  • Extra-large safety pins

  • Borrowed or flea-market brooch

  1. To put on the stole, overlap it at the front, and pin it shut with safety pins from the underside.

  2. Then turn back the topmost outer corner so the satin lining shows, and fasten that corner down with the brooch.
