I been doing cookies for so long, never had a problem. I though it was to much butter just like the other comments, but i went and did them any way, following the steps and measures ... I was very despondent!! waist of ingredients :(

I just made this cookie and it is amazing! Yes 2 cups of butter is alot, but with the proportion of flour and all the coconut, they came out chewy and not too buttery. I also substituted 1/2 cup flour for coconut flour and added 1/2 tsp of vanilla and 1/8 tsp coconut strong flavor (from king Arthur flour). These are a keeper recipe!

Last Season I wrote to Martha and asked for this recipe. It comes from Maury Rubin of City Bakery in NYC. These cookies are great, I tried them when i visited. However I am confused, in the recipe its listed as granulated sugar, yet in the video its explained by Maury that is both light brown and dark brown sugar. The key here is to chill the dough balls prior to baking, however I do get excessive "spreadage".... MSLO, please check this recipe. I truly think it is published here wrong.

Maybe you should make the recipe before commenting on it's inaccuracy? I just made them (halved the recipe) and they are perfect. Also, 2 dozen cookies (if you READ in step four) is with a GIANT ice cream scoop. My third pan is in the oven. This recipe is AMAZING and these cookies are AMAZING. We have an obesity problem in this country because people don't get off the couch, not because of a few tablespoons of butter.

Coconut chips are dried flaked coconut. You can get them in health food store and some farmers markets. Whole Foods may have them. .

Coconut chips are different than shredded coconut. Watch the video and it will talk about the difference.

If you go to the search feature on this website and enter "coconut chips" like I did you'd find the answer.
