Introduction

This idea comes from our friend Kara Whitten of A Kailo Chic Life. Each character is encircled by a different border, a take on the old-fashioned look of vintage typewriter keys. Blank circles are also included to fully customize your banner. Alternatively, you can use these for gift tags by printing on shrink plastic for keychain charms or printing on printable fabric to turn into monogrammed patches.

materials

  • Cardstock paper (Recollections Essentials Cardstock Paper, 6" by 6", $9.99, michaels.com)

  • Craft scissors

  • Double-sided tape

  • Hole punch (Swingline Single Hole Punch, $5.87, amazon.com)

steps

  1. Download the alphabetical and numeral templates in PDF format on standard paper; cut out using craft scissors. Cut larger circles from colorful cardstock paper and adhere together with double-sided tape.

  2. Hole punch near the top, just inside the decorative border, of each circle.

  3. To hang, string the circles onto a length of twine, in the order needed, to spell out a celebratory message.
