The amount of material you need will depend on the height and circumference of your basket and the pattern you desire, but the measurements should be of a width equal to or less than the width of your basket's openings.

Sewing supplies (optional)
Working horizontally, weave the material between the openings of the basket, working it in and out over the wire frame. If desired, repeat vertically.
Secure the ends of the material to each other with glue or a few stitches. If working vertically, secure the ends to themselves at the inside of the basket with glue or a few stitches.
