  • Air-dry clay in terra-cotta (Activa Plus Air-Dry Clay, in Terra-cotta, from $5 each for 1.1 lb.,

  • Painters' tape


  1. Use painters' tape to mark out a pattern on a terra-cotta bowl, then paint between the lines of tape with craft paint. Let dry; remove tape. Brush on a clear coat of sealant to protect the pattern.
